Hiking & Biking

For those who’d rather travel under their own power rather than on horseback, hiking and mountain bike trails will take you to many destinations. The ranch has a limited number of bikes of various sizes for guest use or feel free to bring your own. In town, West Yellowstone Bicycles and Freeheel & Wheel both offer rental bikes by the hour or the day.

There are two events that will interest bike enthusiasts. The Spring Bike Ride into Yellowstone National Park is a great way to experience the park prior to the readmission of public vehicles as well as the Fall Cycle Tour in September.

The Rendezvous Ski Trail is easily accessible from the town of West Yellowstone, Montana. The Rendezvous Ski Trails consist of over 35 kilometers of gently rolling, beautifully groomed trails that wind through tall stands of lodge pole pine and open meadows. The trailhead is at the south end of Geyser Street and is marked with a distinctive archway. There is always a good chance that you will encounter wildlife on the trail system. Elk, moose, pine marten and bear sightings are not uncommon so stay alert and be prepared.
